Milestones
2005
18 October 2005 : supported by the Region, the transport and logistics sector professionals joined forces under the umbrella of the APTL (association of transport and logistics professionals in the Languedoc-Roussillon).
End 2005 : the Region financed a study by the Banque de France to evaluate the economic and financial situation of businesses in the sector.
2006
Boosted by the reassuring findings of the study conducted in 2005, the Region launched the idea of the network contract. After a stage of evaluation and meetings that underscored the urgent need to restructure the network, step up commercial development and improvements to productivity, and develop intermodal solutions, 4 working groups were set up which rapidly defined the network’s underlying objectives.
The APTL took part in the Public Debate on "Transport policy in the Rhone valley and the Languedoc area" and drew up a directory of industry players.
2007
1st June 2007 : signing of the first logistics and transport network contract between the Region and the APTL.
September 2007 : creation of a visual identity and logo, and a web portal for greater visibility for the sector players and the public.
October 2007 : realisation of a written contribution to the French Grenelle de l’Environnement environmental initiative.
2008
23 January 2008 : organisation of a conference-debate on the outcomes of the Grenelle de l’environnement scheme in the area of transport and logistics.
2009
Participation in the Public Debate on the "New Montpellier/Perpignan Line" and production of a directory of industry players.
Introduction of the ‘OBJECTIF CO2: LES TRANSPORTEURS S’ENGAGENT/ Objective CO2 : the carriers agree to act’ initiative, a national scheme to reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions by road hauliers.
2011
15 April 2011 : renewal of the network contract for the period 2011-2013.
